Genesis10 is seeking a Product Engineer for a position in Austin


Description:
The Product Engineer will be responsible for coordinating hydraulic and mechanical system design of water reuse treatment equipment. The individual shall be capable of managing priorities across multiple projects, including research, product development, and production support of project designs. Engineering work shall involve experimental design, execution, data collection, and analysis. Critical job responsibilities involve working closely with all members of the team, including mechanical designers, project managers, technical support, sales, and marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in product innovation and product evolution cycles by providing input and guidance relative to investigative efforts, both in the field and laboratory
  • Provide technical support of active projects, including both production and development efforts. Up to 30% travel.
  • Work closely with the end user and field service teams to understand product outcomes and development opportunities.
  • Coordinate/Manage the work of integrators to prepare required schematics, layouts, detailed drawings, calculations, specifications, software design documentation and PLC programs, with limited supervision.
  • Provide engineering support to internal groups through engineering feedback, specification review, and design analysis.
  • Engage in installation, integration, design, and operational testing of small-scale equipment for use in lab environment.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner, adhering to company and corporate policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required or developed


Required Skills
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • A combination of relevant education and experience to design, manage, and execute membrane filtration systems. B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or technical degree may be used in place of years' experience.
  • 3-5 years field or industrial full time experience.
  • Experience with commissioning/troubleshooting filtration systems, water treatment plants, or sufficiently complex mechanical machines involving programmable logic controls, variable frequency drives, and associated equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical arrangement drawings, process flow diagrams, operations and maintenance manuals, and other technical documents.
  • Ability to read, understand and create process flow diagrams, P&IDs and software design documents.
  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications. • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs.
  • Ability to understand English, at advanced level, via written and verbal communication.
  • 1-3 years of experience in designing control systems for custom industrial equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in research and development with wastewater treatment systems, including oxygen deliver, water filtration, and biological treatment
  • Experience with subcontractor coordination/management
  • Higher level programming familiarity (Python, Java, etc) to assist in developmental projects and general familiarity with IOT protocols
  • Capable of basic statistical analysis of data sets using statistical tools such as standard deviation, box plots, and rolling average analysis
  • Basic competence with AutoCAD or similar drawing tools
