(AR) Technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the Amazon Robotics robots and sortation systems, including troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic failures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Team member must be able to work in a team oriented and safety conscious environment. "Safety First” expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures.
  2. Perform preventive and/or corrective maintenance on robotic systems and components.
  3. Repairs to be performed in conformance with established standards. Assist in formulating standards/work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  4. Troubleshoot and test robotic systems using electronic testing equipment.
  5. Disassemble and reassemble robots, peripheral equipment and conveyance equipment to make repairs such as replacement of defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors.
  6. Evaluate the efficiency and reliability of industrial robotic systems, to achieve maximum capabilities.
  7. Completing preventative maintenance routines, documentation and procedures
  8. Perform battery changes.
  9. Ability to do e-mail communication and date entry for database
  10. Enter downtime data in daily log, complete PM sheets
  11. Ability to prioritize, schedule, and logistically support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  12. Train other personnel to install, use, or maintain robots.
  13. Support continuous improvement throughout department
  14. Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by job.
  15. Providing information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  16. Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.

Education:
  1. 3 to 5 years of experience in automated systems and controls (preferred)
  2. Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Robotics, Mechanical or Electrical fields (preferred)
  3. Tech school certificate or AA in Electrical/Electronics (preferred)
  4. Technical skills including familiarity with Linux, Java, XML, SQL, & database administration. (preferred)
Experience and proficiency in the following areas:
Automated conveyors systems and controls, Electrical and electronic principles, Blueprint and electrical schematic reading, Knowledge of CMMS programs, Preventive/Predictive maintenance procedures, PLCs, PC literacy, Knowledge of N.E.C., Must have a good working knowledge to include, but not limited to, the troubleshooting and repair of VFDs, Motors/Wiring configurations. Must have working knowledge of the following: proper use of hand/power tools and electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic equipment, shop math, fasteners, measurements, and parts nomenclature.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, climb flights of stairs, work from elevated areas, and wear a respirator when required by the job. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate hand tools and industrial machinery such as a truck or fork-lift. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
