Genesis10 is actively seeking ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­a QAS Tester for a leading financial institution. This is for a 9-month W2 contract position in Amherst, NY.
 
Job Summary:
Work within the QAS Division of Client and provide testing support under the direction of the assigned QAS Test lead. This tester will be responsible to for the system integrated testing, function testing, user acceptance testing and operational readiness testing. Testers will work closely with both technology and operations on test script development, test execution, defect identification/management/triage, procedure development and review.
 
 
Job Description:
  • Create an environment strategy and batch execution plan that takes other projects, test regions and all systems needs into consideration
  • Early focus on test data requirements and test data planning
  • Responsible for all Quality gates including but not limited to Test planning, Test Case review, Test case execution
  • Document Quality expectations for writing test cases and logging defects
  • Build risk-based test plans and detailed scenarios – Identify high risk areas and help design a plan to address them
  • Creates test cases across Home Equity servicing including but not limited to Loan Boarding, Payments, Billing, Correspondence, Escrow, Payoffs, Segment setup/maintenance, Credit Reporting, Lien Release
  • Identify major and minor issues/problems and communicate to appropriate management
  • Effectively communicates with the team to improve overall quality and compliance
  • Researches requests to the appropriate conclusion and effectively communicate the results
  • Builds a network of internal/external resources to help achieve goals
  • Diminishes risk to corporation by ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Consistently develops knowledge base of internal and external processes
  • Perform tasks as a fully contributing member of a high performing work team.
  • Perform careful and timely review of various reports to alleviate potential customer impact issues and to ensure system integrity. Take appropriate action to address issues.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve process efficiency, quality and the client experience. Communicate ideas appropriately to effect real change.
  • Assist other team members with daily workload to ensure timely completion and achievement of work team assignments.
  • Actively participate in team meetings
  • Ability to produce a comprehensive test plan for a given domain
  • Strong communication skill/ability to lead
  • Ability to teach non-QA people how to create high-quality test cases and defects
  • Ability to quickly triage and assign defects accordingly
 
Mandatory Requirements:
  • College graduate or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending domain (mortgage and home equity)
  • Strong technical & operational acumen
  • Ability to teach non-QA people how to create high-quality test cases and defects
  • Ability to quickly triage and assign defects accordingly
  • Strong project/testing experience
  • Advanced PC skills and ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Regulatory compliance knowledge with respect to real estate lending and consumer loan documentation
  • Ability to successfully work in web-based applications and on-line image enabled work queues
  • Proven ability to comprehend and perform complex activities independently
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work within a team structure
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while working under pressure
  • Open minded and adaptable to new ideas in a changing environment
  • Maintain a constructive, positive outlook

Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven success in providing high quality service through efficient, effective and consistent delivery
  • Strong knowledge of MSP highly encouraged
  • ALM, HOGAN, ALS Experience a plus
