Genesis 10 is actively seeking an SQA Analyst II/Sr. SQA Analyst resource for a contract for hire position opening (contract term approximately 6 months) within the financial services/banking industry for our client located in Omaha, NE.  

The client is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance professional to develop, support, and deliver testing strategies and solutions for the Stored Value Card application. This role requires gathering and analyzing data including the review of systems requirements to write test plans and scripts, track and facilitate defect resolution, and apply analytical problem-solving skills by collaborating with business and technical staff throughout the development and testing process. Initially, this role will be focused on manual test execution, more specifically around testing and regression testing applications for quarterly patches and upgrades prior to deployment.

  • Function as a liaison between Quality Assurance, Development, and Business areas to assist developers with the specification and testing of software to ensure the implemented solutions are satisfactory from a user and business requirements perspective.
  • Represent the needs of the end-user within the development team to ensure that required business processes are implemented and are of the highest possible quality.
  • Assist with the definition of use cases, functional requirements and test scenarios to prepare implementations of components from both the user and technical perspective.
  • Assist with the coordination of cross-functional, cross-platform and integration test strategies, including systems integration, functional, and regression testing.
  • Assist in formal and informal reviews throughout the development life cycle.
  • Confirm user requirements are captured consistently in the software design and development phase
  • Evaluate automated testing solutions, manual testing procedures and debugging tools to ensure optimal test coverage and execution.
  • Develop and communicate business policies, procedures, work flow and strategies.
  • Establish and adhere to quality assurance guidelines and standards as defined by the project and/or organization requesting testing services.
  • Initiate change requests as appropriate to capture defects and enhancements identified during the testing process, and track existing or potential issues along with a recommended course of action and/or options.
  • Participate in and facilitate daily meetings to communicate progress and barriers to completing application development and testing goals.
  • Collaborate with the development and configuration management teams for deployments into the test environments.
  • Enter and report all daily activities using status tracking tools as required.
  • Prepare and analyze test results to aid in problem solving and facilitate decision-making.
  • Proven application testing experience that includes testing of large, complex, enterprise-wide applications on a variety of platforms, including experience with Java development environments. Understands software development processes, requirements engineering, architectures and quality assurance.
  • Application development and business analysis background and experience are strongly preferred.
  • Applies Quality Assurance techniques and best practices in evaluating and critiquing business processes, as well as technical and functional documentation.
  • Has the ability to envision implementations from a user/business perspective and has sufficient technology acumen to assist in the development processes.
  • Proficient in understanding written requirements, including use cases, supplementary specifications and requirements traceability.
  • Proficient in writing test plans, test cases, user guides and use cases for the intended audience(s)
  • Experience with Client Quality Center / ALM to conduct test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Experience with issue/defect tracking and change management tools, such as JIRA, Client Application Life Cycle Management a plus.
  • Proficient in gathering and preparing data and files for testing.
  • Experience with change management, release packaging and deployment concepts.
  • Practical experience reviewing and researching log files to troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience with test automation concepts and tools, including automation scripting languages/tools.
  • Has tool experience relevant to requirements engineering, continuous integration, Agile team support and testing frameworks, e.g., JIRA, Selenium, Confluence, Arts , Jenkins etc.
  • Advanced experience in developing and executing SQL statements for testing and validation.
  • Excellent testing and troubleshooting skills and ability to work with department staff to resolve technical issues.
  • Has experience with Microsoft Office platform and applications – Windows 7, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Adobe, Project.
  • Experience with manual and regression testing using SQL Developer, PowerShell, File Transfer applications such as WinSCP and Front End Browser Developer Tools.
  • Experience within payment card industry and technologies are preferred.
  • Experience with kiosk or point of sale device testing preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, business administration, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • At least six years of direct experience as a software quality assurance analyst, business analyst or engineer working on major application integration and/or major product releases required.
  • Knowledge of military organizational structures, terminology and protocols are helpful. 
  • United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident alien status with at least three or more years of United States residency from the date of legal entry to the United States is required for this position.
