Genesis10 is currently seeking a Production Support Lead with our client in the financial industry in their Plano, TX location. This is a 6 month + contract-to-hire position.

Description:
  • Responsible for ensuring stability of applications in production
  • Coordinates with various support teams across the organization, for problem research and resolution
  • Communicates with management the overall status and health of the applications
  • Looks for areas of improvement in monitoring, application stability, and speed of determining root cause
  • Provides monitoring of the environment during release or independent change and tracks changes to the production environment for management and executive communications
  • Performs troubleshooting, analysis, research and resolution using advanced query and programming skills
  • Conducts root cause analysis for incidents and problems
  • Work closely with Technology Infrastructure Teams, Development & Testing Teams in supporting integrated /independent releases, software/hardware upgrades, server upgrades, etc.
  • Real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to customers and partners in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period
  • Assesses initial severity, gather impacts, creates tickets (REMEDY), engages necessary support teams, and escalates as necessary to ensure timely restoration to incidents

Requirements:
  • 4+ years of hands on experience in Application support, ensuring stability for critical Mainframe applications in a production environment
  • 7+ years of programming experience in JCL, COBOL, SQL, DB2, VSAM
  • 3+ years of experience using batch job scheduling tools like CA7 or ESQ
  • 3+ years of experience in Mainframe Batch abend research and resolution
  • Strong experience in file manager/file aid tools
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency for high severity incidents
  • A self-starter, motivated, innovative
  • Able to assess the customer impact and provide tactical solutions
  • Provide solutions and avoid recurring of incidents
  • Proactively monitor the production environment and identify the potential incidents
  • Flexible to work for extended hours and on weekends as needed to handle high priority issues, production recoveries, provide support to dev and infrastructure releases
  • Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)

Desired Skills:
  • Hands-on experience in event, incident, and problem processes in ITIL
  • ITIL Certification is a plus
