Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Engineer I with our client in the SEO industry in their Mountain View, CA location. This is a 6 month + contract position.

  • Seeking an Application Engineer I

  • Develop and enhance tools and scripts to streamline and automate our build and release process. Specifically, these include:
    • Implement an automated way to inherit profiles for specific boards and upstream those changes
    • Provide support and help for developers not familiar with the program who are trying to write ebuilds
    • Help with upstreaming of changes made to local ebuilds in the chromiumos-overlay
    • Other various build and release automation tools

  • High school or Associate degree, in a relevant field such as electrical engineering, computer technology, IT, manufacturing, or related field 
  • 4+ years' experience electrical testing, IT, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related work 
  • Experience with Unix systems administration including solid scripting skills in Shell, PHP, Perl, or Python
  • Proven technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience
  • Experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment
  • Experience leading short projects involving outside teams is a plus
  • SQL and/or MySQL experience a plus
  • Tack-sharp analytical abilities, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Fluent written communication and unusual verbal agility are strong assets
  • Excellent written and oral communications 
  • Skilled with electronic assembly tools: Soldering/desoldering, crimping, pinning/depinning of connectors 
  • Skilled with electronic test equipment: Multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generators 
  • Skilled with interpreting electronic schematics used to troubleshoot/repair electronics 
  • Detail oriented to follow assembly patterns, instructions, and diagrams 
  • Strong ability to operate and troubleshoot PCBs, electronics, and mechanical assemblies Experience with IT, computer setup, software installation (Windows, Linux, IOS) 
  • Capable of self-managing concurrent projects on tight timelines 
  • Creative problem solver, enjoys the challenge of creating something new
  • Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)
  • Desired:
    • Experience working with and managing vendors
    • Experience making test fixtures for functional and safety testing of electronics
    • Knowledge of 3D modeling and a CAM package
    • Experience with electronics integration and electrical systems
    • Good fabrication skills across a range of materials and processes
    • Ability to do hands-on design and problem-solving 
    • Can reverse engineer simple mechanical and electrical systems
