US Head of Desktop

Genesis10 is seeking a Regional Desktop Services Lead for a permanent position with a financial services client located in New York City.
 
Summary:
Reporting to the Group Head of Support and part of the Global End User Computing Team. The role is focused on proactively managing the local New York Desktop Services team plus support staff located in other US locations supporting BAU & Project work.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Team lead responsibility for the US EUC Desktop Service and the associated direct End User interaction
  • Interaction with the Global Service Desk to ensure that BSL services are delivered, measured and reported effectively
  • Will be assigned Management responsibility of the local (NYC) and remote (other US Locations) desktop support staff
  • Manage problems, client escalation and effective relationships across the wider organisation
  • Monitor report and recommend improvements in the overall EUC Desktop Service offerings
  • Define, maintain and monitor compliance to security and software policies for the business.
  • Communicate with senior management in the New York office on behalf of the Global End User Compute team
  • Liaise directly with the client where required with IT & Business in order to assist with the dissemination of information to external clients as appropriate 
Leadership/Direction:
  • At least 3 years' experience managing technical teams
  • Strong leadership and team building Hands on, can do attitude. Must be prepared to lead by example to drive delivery
  • Ability to set, agree and evaluate clear objectives, identify potential impact of changes
  • Influence IT areas and Senior Managers into making successful IT decisions
  • Attention to detail, seeks to help and co-operate with customers in order to develop productive, professional relationships with Customers (internal/external)
  • Resolve day to day issues that fall under Desktop Services remit – including equipment procurement and provision, client escalation and local resolution
  • Develop realistic plan to meet objectives. Tenacious and delivery focused in approach. Continually seeks to make the area in which they work more efficient and effective. Continually strives to make the area in which they work more efficient and effective
  • Excellent written and oral skills, clear and concise, keeps manager informed of work progression at sensible intervals. Engage; Client first point of contact, manage vendors and third parties as appropriate

  • Windows 7 /10
  • Citrix Xenapp, XenDesktop, Director
  • Microsoft Server Technologies – AD, DNS, DHCP, SCCM
  • Office 365 – Skype for Business, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Intune
  • Client Printing
  • Lakeside Sytrack
  • AppSense
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering projects within the financial services industry including clearing or investment banking
