Genesis10 is actively seeking a Scrum Master resource for a permanent/direct hire position opening.  This position opening is within the financial services/banking.  The client is located in Kansas City, MO. 

This resource will serve as a Scrum Master on a large-scale program in partnership with other Scrum Masters, the development team, the Product Owner, and project leadership.

  • Serve as a Scrum Master for one, to multiple, scrum teams through guiding and coaching scrum team to follow Agile/Scrum practices. 
  • Collaborate with other scrum masters within the project as well as the Nexus Scrum Master to identify dependencies, manage conflicts, and drive success of individual sprints as well as the overall project.
  • Responsible for enacting Scrum values and practices.
  • Ensures that the team is fully functional and productive.
  • Enables close cooperation across all roles and functions.
  • Shields the team from external interferences.
  • Build a safe and trusting environment where conflicts can be managed in a healthy way without fear or blame.
  • Assisting in internal and external communications, improving transparency and radiating information.
  • Facilitates and/or ensures Agile ceremonies are embraced and adhered to.
  •  The Scrum Master shall exhibit service to the Product Owner by:the following:
    • Ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team as well as possible
    • Finding techniques for effective Product Backlog management
    • Helping the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items
    • Understanding product planning in an empirical environment
    • Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value
    • Understanding and practicing agility
    • Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed
  •  The Scrum Master shall exhibit service to the Development Team by:
    • Leading and coaching the organization in its Scrum adoption
    • Planning Scrum implementations within the organization
    • Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact Scrum and empirical product development
    • Causing change that increases the productivity of the Scrum Team
    • Working with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization
  • Bachelor's degree specializing in business, related computer technology, or equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experience.
  • Minimum of six years of technology project management experience with an emphasis on Agile projects utilizing the Scrum Framework.
  • Certification in PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM, or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Behavior Driven Development preferred.
  • Strong skill in project management collaboration tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals, and to determine and drive reporting and communication strategies. Uses persuasion and tact in advising on, and influencing, project objectives and direction, as well as project team. Skilled at negotiating commitments among various stakeholders
  • Excellent meeting facilitation and presentation skills, which includes handling difficult and/or sensitive conversations with key stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service skills preferred.
  • Possess strong technical aptitude, including knowledge of software development methodologies and processes (e.g., agile, RUP, waterfall, scrum); computing environments; and tools such as JIRA and ClearCase.
  • Practical knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), or alternative project performance measurement practices.
  • Knowledge of and proven skills with project management through the full System Development Life Cycle to include the business/conceptual and initiation phases as well as analysis and requirements gathering (business, use cases/stories, function/non-functional, and technical).
  •  United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident alien status with at least three or more years of United States residency from the date of legal entry to the United States is required for this position.
