Genesis10 is currently seeking a Test Engineer II with our client in the SEO industry in their Mountain View, CA location. This is a 12 month + contract position.

  • Seeking a Test Engineer II
  • As a Test Engineer II, you will be setting up, running and maintaining long-running robot navigation experiments, which require some software and hardware knowledge as well as a strong desire to help improve robotics and strong interpersonal skills
  • As the first test engineer in the team, you will have a significant role in defining the role itself and driving the quality of the fully-learned navigation software
  • You will be supporting the Robotics team by running long-running navigation experiments on multiple robots
  • These experiments are used by our researchers to design & verify new machine learning techniques that allow the robot to learn to navigate large spaces like humans would
  • Your contribution is key to making this research successful by maximizing the usage of our robots, which will in turn increase the velocity of our researchers

  • Job responsibilities are to set up, monitor, and provide feedback on long-running navigation experiments with robots
  • This involves physical setup of robots and test fixtures as well as developing a test plan, writing scripts to run the robot, following the robot during execution and collecting metrics on robot's behavior
  • You may also be asked to work out improvements to the current setup, debug and fix broken robots and/or file bugs, communicate issues to the respective researcher, organize the lab, and write documentation

  • Bachelor's degree in related field. In lieu of degree must have 5-7 years of experience
  • Looking for someone smart, willing to learn, and actively participate 
  • 2-4 years of experience testing software / hardware integration
  • Ability to develop a test plan, find the corner cases, and report back to the researchers
  • Experience working with Linux, starting/restarting processes, some bash scripting, etc. 
  • Basic software engineering experience (e.g. Git) and reading/writing Python code
  • Ability to understand logs and debug the root cause of issues
  • Perceptive with good mechanical intuition, very "hands on”, able to measure carefully and catch problems early and solve them
  • Careful attention to detail and quality, able to catch new problems
  • Able to learn quickly by example and work in a fast-changing prototype environment where work may change week to week, without detailed step by step instructions
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excited about robotics and machine learning.
  • Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)
  • Desired:
    • Big plus for robotics experience, and / or autonomous driving
