Genesis10 is seeking a­­­­­­­­­­­n IP Networking Analyst II for a leading telecommunications company. This is a 6-month contract position with possibility to hire.

Job Description:
  • Requires intermediate-to-advanced knowledge to troubleshoot and mitigate data networking issues related to Internet Routing and Switching including hardware, configurations, and connectivity across multiple Internet and networking technologies and protocols.
  • Must have demonstrable proficiencies to test and troubleshoot across multiple Data IP Networking subjects including but not limited to: Data switching, IP Addressing, IP-Routing, ARP, VLAN-Tagging, PPP, STP, TCP, Ethernet, MPLS, ISIS/OSPF, BGP, and Networking ACLs/Filters.
  • Candidate must have advanced skill supporting Data Network Routing and Switching hardware for at least one of the following vendors: Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Client, and/or Redback from a CLI environment. Candidates with intermediate experience across more than one of these vendors will also be considered.
  • Troubleshoot Client network elements; Research; Documentation
  • Working knowledge of Data Network Devices including but not limited to DSLAMs, ATM switches and routers. A working knowledge of IP networking, ATM networking and MPLS networking is also required.
  • Verify MPLS connectivity using MPLS_Test vrf
  • Be able to draw a topology map from edge router back to the core (excluding switches)
  • Identify & mitigate a DoS/DDoS attack within 15min
  • Hardware install/replacement MOP reviewed and passed on 2nd revision
  • Strong people and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to work complex problems, evaluate information and arrive at creative
  • solutions.
  • Understanding of monitoring/troubleshooting practices and procedures.
  • UNIX shell, PERL scripting a plus.
  • Act as second level support for customer facing organizations, DNOC, and other NOC verticals

  • Associate Degree in a technical discipline and 2-4 years technical experience with 4+ years directly related to the job. College hours or a college degree may be substituted for some experience as deemed appropriate.
  • 2-6 years relevant experience, Minimum 1 year of specific experience in an Network Analyst role
  • Must possess proficient /excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess intermediate problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Possesses strong knowledge of networking technology. Applies standard principles, theories, concepts & techniques.
  • Work independently to consistently contribute network health,works closely with peers and senior level analyst.
