Genesis10 is actively seeking a Jr. Java Developer for a direct hire position within the transportation industry for our client located in Overland Park, KS.
 
Overview:
  • Utilize entry-level knowledge of Java development and or vendor-provided technology solutions to develop, integrate and implement business solutions. 
  • Participate in an Agile-based team environment to develop core business and web solutions including data integrations and reporting capabilities to bring competitive advantage to client Transportation market. 
  • Involved in all aspects of the development lifecycle including code development, user interaction, application testing and deployment.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform programming assignments requiring a basic understanding of established programming standards, methods and best practices.
  • Interpret business requirements, create functional specifications and determine the most efficient/appropriate technologies.
  • Perform analysis of logical specifications and/or customer requirements to develop business solutions utilizing multiple technologies.
  • Contribute to design of software solutions.
  • Work with engineers and architects in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement solutions, resolve problems and perform code reviews.
  • Follow development best practices such as version control, unit testing, continuous integration, performance and security testing, and appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure quality and maintain performance of deployed solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders following the Agile Scrum software development process.
  • Provide technical support and participate in on-call rotation to resolve application issues.
  • Assist with other projects as needed to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.

Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude, fast learner and effective problem solver.
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, quality driven and capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Great team player with positive attitude.
  • Foundation in object oriented programming and associated design concepts.
  • Experience with Java and Spring, Understanding of RESTful design
  • Preferred qualifications experience with Oracle, or with cloud solutions.
  • Exposure to Finance or HR/Payroll processes or tools nice to have
