Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a contract position lasting through 02/28/19, working with a major insurance provider client in the Milwaukee, WI area.
  • As an Software Engineer for the Campus & Event Experiences (CEE) Engineering Team, you will develop integrated solutions, modernizing, consolidating and coordinating independently-designed applications to meet business needs
  • Partnering with Architecture and in keeping with development best practices, you will analyze business/functional specifications to deliver quality applications/systems while minimizing cost and optimizing maintainability
  • In converting high-level architectural design into detailed application design, you will evaluate software, make buy vs. build recommendations, and establish development environments
  • Working from product features, you will provide/validate sizing, create stories, task out stories, and prepare/maintain application/systems documentation
  • Above all, you are a strategic thinker; you take ownership of issues, moving between diverse tasks with cooperation and persistence to motivate and bring out the best in those around you
  • 25% development, 75%: Vendor based work, 25% unplanned work, Pipeline work, Cloud Work, all the ceremonies related to Agile these are all non-development
  • Must haves, 3-5 years: In this role, you will have a vast span of accountabilities as a Software Engineer
  • You will work on both planned work along with incident/fly in work
  • Your accountabilities will vary from development (approx. 25% in this role), to working with brokered teams, vendors, business partners, which allows for building relationships in a team setting
  • The primary core development skills for the Software Engineer should include JAVA, .NET, CSS, Object Oriented Design Patterns, RESTful API, SOAP, SQL, and Informatica (or equivalent data movement tool)
  • Having an agile mindset and working with Scrum, JIRA, Leankit is required
  • Support would also include vendor packages in this area
  • Additional skills/tool knowledge that would be used in this role include: Node.js, React.js, Redux, RESTful API, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins, AZURE, AWS
  • The team is currently at the forefront of building out Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipelines leveraging some of these tools
  • If you don’t have knowledge of these newer stack skills/tools, you must have the desire to learn these
  • Any knowledge with networking (system process/integration) or PC/LAN knowledge is a plus
  • Support would also include vendor packages in this area
  • Relationship building and communication is critical as this role will work with vendors, brokered teams, business SME's, and internally with own scrum team
