Genesis10 is currently seeking a Dry Etch Engineer with our client, a Stealth Mode Start up located in the San Jose, CA area.

Description:
  • Seeking a Dry Etch Engineer
  • A stealth start-up in the display market is seeking an experienced Process Engineer in the discipline of plasma dry etch to develop world class compound semiconductor manufacturing processes and meet our milestones
  • The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of delivering process capability and manufacturability
  • This will involve collaboration with cross-functional/cross-company teams and equipment vendors to meet the device requirements for next-generation displays
  • The candidate must have both an entrepreneurial and growth mindset
  • Domestic and International travel may be necessary to support job responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and optimize plasma etch processes
  • Select and develop material and equipment for the process to meet device performance requirements
  • Conduct process, equipment and material development projects with equipment and material suppliers
  • This will involve collaboration with cross-functional/cross-company teams and tool vendors to meet our very challenging goals
  • Design, execute and analyze experiments to meet device performance specifications for their process
  • Work effectively with the equipment supplier to identify shortcomings, propose and evaluate hardware modification to mitigate issues
  • Drive improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, and productivity
  • Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools
  • Establish process control systems for the process module
  • Identify potential intellectual property (IP) opportunities and file disclosures
Requirements:
  • PhD degree (or MS) in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor process and/or equipment development
  • Strong understanding in transport phenomena, surface phenomena, reaction engineering, electromagnetics, atomic/molecular physics, principles of plasma dry etch processing, and plasma sources used in plasma etching
  • Strong understanding of surface and analytical characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, CDSEM, etc.
  • Technical expertise within semiconductor processing engineering preferably in GaN, GaAs or similar material systems
  • Demonstrated experience with technical problem-solving skills
  • Need to have worked in Indium phosphide or some other type of sub materials, not silicon alone.  To show that they can adapt and use multiple materials within a structured, disciplined approach
  • Demonstrated experience working with external and internal partners, including leading edge and compound semiconductor equipment and/or materials manufacturers
  • A fast learner, able to adapt to the culture and the technology 
  • Must be flexible in accommodating changing priorities and working hours to support business needs

Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)
