Genesis10 is currently seeking a CTI Client Protection Analyst with our client in the financial industry in their Addison, TX location. This is a 12 month + contract position. 

  • Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) works with partners, both internal and external, to reduce risk to the firm and to the financial sector at large
  • The Triage team provides timely situational awareness, conducts initial triage and analysis of threats and translates indicators of threat into actionable information to reduce impact to the bank
  • Stakeholders include cyber-security response teams, internal lines of business, senior leadership and external organizations such as law enforcement, industry peers, key suppliers, customers and intelligence sharing partners
  • The Client Protection Analyst will leverage strong skills in malware analysis and reverse engineering to thoroughly understand malicious code targeting client credentials and PII
  • The successful analyst will perform static and dynamic malware analysis, understand specifically how banking Trojans and other threats to client credentials function, and develop tools and techniques to analyze them and monitor their targets
  • In addition, the analyst will be responsible for collaborating with other security teams to test and implement detective controls wherever possible to mitigate impact to the bank and its clients
  • Reverse engineers malicious code to determine core functionality and assess the threat to data and PII belonging to customers and clients
  • Builds tools to assist in analyzing and extracting configuration data from banking (or other) malware targeting customers and clients
  • Collaborates closely with online banking and authentication teams to develop and test indicators to detect compromised customers and clients
  • Produces concise, detailed written products highlighting key components of research and analysis
  • Engages effectively with multiple teams within the bank to achieve objectives and proactively mitigate losses from financial malware
  • Perform static and dynamic malware analysis 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience performing static and dynamic malware analysis
  • Bachelor's Degree (computer science preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Firm understanding of common network protocols and architectures
  • Basic capability with log analysis tools (Splunk preferred)
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and HTML
  • In depth knowledge of the Windows operating system and architecture
  • Basic understanding of financial cybercrime methodologies
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex material concisely and effectively
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Computer Science degree desired
  • Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)
