Genesis10 is seeking an IT Application Manager for a contract to hire position with our client in Miami, FL. Will start remotely. 

The IT Application Manager is responsible for providing a high level of expertise in the area of technical systems with full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analyses and programming and is an expert in the areas of technical detail design and analysis. The individual performs the tasks necessary to support and further develop the core banking application systems. This requires in-depth knowledge of core banking systems on both functional and technical aspects. The application manager is also required to maintain the current applications, augment existing functionality and collaborate with the vendors and partners to develop new systems.

As a part of daily activity, the individual supports production by analyzing and identifying root causes and resolving issues in a timely manner. As a technical project lead, he/she works closely with the product vendor/partner as well as with the local IT group to ensure the successful project planning, development and deployment of the final solution. The individual works closely with business analysts and project managers, translating business needs into technical requirements, and support the development team.

  • Manage the IT Application area which includes a team of direct reports
  • Complete project assignment in research, analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging or implementation
  • Complete assignments on schedule, meeting operational performance requirements
  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives, devising procedures to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity and limitations
  • Develop detailed specification for which programs are written
  • Provide best-practice, state-of-art consulting to internal receivers and other systems staff
  • Responsible for full compliance of all Information Security, BSA/AML regulations, Bank Secrecy Laws and KYC regulations
  • Maintain the core banking application in production and support all tasks required to resolve production issues in a timely manner
  • Support the change management process by maintaining high level of documentation of all projects and requests, evaluating criticality of changes, promoting all production code only under correct compliance and approvals and disseminating the correct change management process and procedures to the entire IT application team
  • Interact with business users to gather production defects, analyze and collaborate with the product vendor/partner in production support and new development activities
  • Interact with business users to gather and verify business requirements through formal and informal sessions
  • Ask probing questions to have a full understanding of the scope and scale of the need and come up with sizing of effort
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements, tests plans and training materials, to be used in formal and informal training sessions
  • Organize and manage review sessions with business sponsor, other stakeholders and IT Development
  • Execute the assigned project tasks end to end independently
  • Prepare technical documentation according to SDLC methodology
  • Participate in integration system testing and proactively help users in execution of UAT cycle by documenting resolution in a defect tracking tool
  • Participate actively with the CIO/Head of the Information Technology in the creation of project estimates, cost benefit analyses, and the work plan, tracking progress to plan and adjusting approach to maintain commitments

  • Bachelor's degree in computer and information science, or related subject area required
  • 10+ years of experience in banking or financial services industry, preferably in Private Banking
  • 10+ years of experience with Temenos Wealth suite products implementation (T24, TDS, TAP, FCM) with proven leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience with securities order processing system, portfolio analysis and management system
  • 7+ years of working experience Windows/SQL 2008/2012 (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS), Visual Studio 2015 Team suite
  • Solid problem solving, analytical skills and ability to work under little supervision or independently under high pressure production environment
  • 5+ years of people management, specifically managing developers
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, to deal with ambiguity and to apply problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of AML, document imaging, client reporting, Business Intelligence systems desired
  • Knowledge in Web Application (HTTP Server, Web-Sphere Application Server and Database Server), MQ
  • Knowledge of iSeries/AS400, AIX is desired
  • Knowledge of Core systems Olympic and T24 is desired
  • Understanding in SDLC and application software development in .NET framework
  • Must be proficient with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Enterprise Architect, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in delivery of multiple critical projects for a Private Bank/Investment Bank/Securities Services Industry
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and strong interpersonal skills to participate effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Must be proficient with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Enterprise Architect, etc.)
  • Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is preferable
