General job duties.  Types of procedures required. 
Director for the Health Information Services Department.  Manages the HIS department and staff (HIS clerks, transcriptionist, coders, utilization review)
 
Required skills and minimum years of experience.         
Bachelors Degree from four year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
AHIMA RHIT or RHIA certified
 
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required?  If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
This is an exempt position.  Main hours are Monday through Friday between 8am-5pm. 
Attends the Medical Staff meeting once a month at 7am.
Attends the Board meeting to take minutes once a month at 5:30pm-7:30pm
Other hours as needed.

Client Health & Life operates a 17-bed, acute care Critical Access Hospital in Fairbury, Nebraska. We offer inpatient and outpatient services, including obstetrics, surgery, therapy, screenings, and emergency services. We also provide additional health and life services for the community, including Client Health & Life Fairbury Clinic for primary care, Client  Health & Life Gardenside for long-term care, Client Health & Life Burkley Fitness Center and Client Health & Life Home Health services. In addition, Client Health & Life supports numerous educational programs and community support groups.

Since this is a director position they will be paired with another director as a mentor.  The current Director is retiring and will be able to train the new Director.
