Max Supplier Rate: $90/hour
PPL willing to pay 1.5 Overtime, but will be limited.
Duration: 6 months +. Contract only at this point, potential contract to hire opportunity eventually.
Work hours: Department hours are M-F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Interview process: 1) Phone screen 2) Onsite interview
Work location: PPL General Office: 2 North 9th Street, Allentown, PA 18101
Some local travel to other PPL sites will be required. Mileage will be expensable/reimbursable.
MVR background will be run on candidates.
NERC Access will be required - PPL will run a second, separate background check on the candidate once they start.
Skills / Experience:
1) 5+ years in Contract Writing
2) 8+ years overall experience in Supply Chain
3) Industry experience preferred - writing labor contracts for electric T&D utilities
4) Experience creating and managing life cycle of RFP's
5) Experience managing categories
The candidate should be a senior level experienced (minimum 5-years’ experience in contract writing and at least 8 years overall experience) supply chain professional experienced in writing labor contracts for electric T&D utilities (preference, but not mandatory). The category manager will be knowledgeable in creating and managing the life cycle of RFP’s, managing categories (TCO, spend, market, etc...), use of ERP systems to create contracts, good negotiation skills, excellent written and verbal skills, knowledge of contract types such as lump sum, T&M, unit, cost-plus, etc...; experience working with all types of internal clients, suppliers, and staff attorneys to create cost beneficial and risk mitigating solutions for Company; excellent project management skills; excellent presentation and meeting management skills; knowledge and experience in providing risk mitigating solutions (i.e. performance bonds, letters of
credit, etc...); knowledge of various contract structures such as blankets, MSA, stand-alone, releases, booking, etc....; ease of working with different client workgroups; and lastly, good business acumen that can understand process not all written down, when to escalate issues, understanding gaps, understanding business risks and matching solutions to problems.
Work location will alternate between the General Office or the Lehigh Service Center both in Allentown, PA.
Categories may be assigned to support engineering and construction contracts, which may include T&D
overhead and underground construction; storm support; and vegetation maintenance. Assignment will be for a minimum of 6 months with a potential for permanent hire. Regional/local preference.
