Carrier Certification Test Engineer

Overall: Work experience with PTCRB/GCF certification team at OEM labs or 3rd party test labs. Good Knowledge of 3G/4G/LTE 3GPP test requirements with focus on RF/RRM testing. Experience with RF principles and 3GPP conformance specifications. Expertise working on standard test platforms such as ANITE, ANRITSU, R&S test systems. Job Description: Excellent understanding of GSM, UMTS, CDMA, EVDO and LTE and the ability to learn quickly using relevant wireless standards. Experience with the associated standards and validation of RF, RRM, and Protocol compliance testing. Responsibilities include certification issue debugging and analysis of RF and Protocol Stack issues, and alignment with product R&D teams. RF parametric data gathering, correlation, and associated tasks, while also acting as a liaison with Software Engineering teams regarding SW images, test scripts and associated requirements. Testing and optimization of internally developed HW to meet performance standards, responsible for both pre-certification testing and working with certification labs including cellular carriers certification. Use of industry standard testing tools such as Anite, R & S, Anritsu and Spirent to test various RF/RRM test scenarios or experience using a combination of these to test. Familiar with GCF activities and PTCRB certification including device preparation, PICS validation / PIXIT, performing GCF / PTCRB tests, supporting laboratory testing and verification of third party reports. Keep up with the needs of 3GPP, 3GPP2, OMA, GCF, PTCRB and updates on the test plans; translates new changes from these industry standards bodies for the development of products at an early stage to ensure proper product design. Ability to resolve test equipment issues and analyze the failures Might require up to 50% of travel to client laboratories, 3rd party laboratories to support product certification and launch.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors in electrical engineering or Computer Science preferred 3+ years of RF engineering experience, including pre-certification testing, test plan development, HW/RF testing automation; experience with RF Lab equipment, including spectrum Analyzers, signal generators, radio communication testers (R&S CMW500)
