Note from Hiring Manager:
  • Please note that this is for my coverage and would be for 1 day a month (8 hours)
  • Plus coverage for when i I am out as needed: which can be 2-5 days/week depending on availability
  • 8 am-4:30 pm with 30 min break for lunch the 1 day/month it is flexible and able to work with contractor directly on this

Position Purpose:
  • The OHW Nurse (RN) will provide clinical and occupational health and wellness services to colleagues within their regulated scope of practice.

Job Description:
Per Diem Registered Nurse
  • Deliver nursing care for patients with work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Assists physician as needed.
  • Documentation of patient data in electronic medical record which includes all activities related to work and non-work-related injuries and illnesses as well as worker's compensation.
  • Completes reports; completes paperwork and notifies appropriate parties of work-related injuries and illnesses which includes but is not limited to the first report of injury, notifying the safety department as well as the patient's supervisor.
  • Perform case management functions for work-related injuries or illnesses and worker's compensation cases.
  • Delivers nursing care to patients with non-work-related acute medical problems.
  • Provides emergency stabilization for seriously ill or injured patients; accurate presentation of patient's history, pertinent physical findings, EKG (if indicated) to EMT or paramedic and emergency department charge nurse in preparation for transport to emergency department.
  • Perform medical surveillance testing per corporate guidelines.
  • Perform phlebotomy for new hires and periodic medical surveillance.
  • Perform chain of custody for post offer testing in accordance with Client's Substance abuse policy
  • Administer immunizations.
  • Counsels patients on wellness activities, such as diet, weight reduction, exercise, etc., where appropriate. Years of Experience 3-5.

Experience/Education:
RN Board Certification
COHN-S preferred
Suggest a minimum of 5 years experience as an OHW professional
Demonstrates experience in acute episodic care, wellness care and counseling of adults
Proficiency in use of electronic medical record keeping systems desirable
