Material Handler

Location: San Diego, California
Material Handler will be responsible for unloading product deliveries, staging products based on customer orders and assisting with organizing and maintaining existing inventory. Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed to operate a forklift, available to work overtime hours during the busier times of the year as well as the last Saturday of each month.

Receive materials and/or finished goods on a daily basis, especially towards the end of each day.
That interaction requires teamwork and communication skills.
Effectiveness in this role also requires functional knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures
This position requires the individual to be ready to start work on-time daily
Willing to work overtime and weekends during end of month and end of quarter

Additional Responsibilities:
Excellent attention to detail, able to verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are correct and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list) • Prepare routine order picking and receiving documentation
Operate material handling equipment (e.g. standup forklift truck, reach forklift truck, sit-down forklift truck, hand truck, pallet jack, dock lever, etc.)
Prepare and ship materials and/or finished goods in a timely manner according to customer requirements (if required)
Daily 5S (Sort-Sweep-Standardize-Sustain-Safety) requirements
May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Experience/Skills/Competencies/Education a. Able to lift 50lbs, MS office skills, currently forklift certified, and High school graduate - regardless, if the candidate attended school outside of the country or if graduation occurred many years prior
Teamwork and Positive attitude a. Fast pace, overtime required especially during month and end of quarters. Willing to work in shipping and receiving, load trailers, and wrap pallets 3. Quality a. Mitigate picking, shipping or loading errors. Palletize without damaging cartons and ensure customer pallets are in the best condition
Safety a. Forklift certification within the last two years, EHS experience is a plus

Additional Qualifications:
Radio Frequency Scanner experience
WMS (Warehouse Management Skills) experience
Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted
