Summary:
Customer Engineers are responsible for onsite customer maintenance including both hardware and software repair activities and customer satisfaction. The Customer Engineer will use interpersonal and technical skills, both hardware and software, to identify and resolve customer problems and/or escalate to the appropriate organization. The Client will perform account management activities such as installation planning, installations, sales support, problem management, and configuration management as needed to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. This particular Client position is a resident position dedicated to supporting one customer in a large datacenter.
Responsibilities/Conditions:
Expertise with hardware/software and performing break/fix activities
Knowledge of system interoperability with Storage, Networks, Servers, tape libraries, etc., and other system type
attachments.
Expertise with HPE or SGI servers and storage is a plus.
High level of problem isolation and identification skills.
Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
Expected to work after hours and weekends when necessary.
Required to carry a “pager” and participate with the team on-call rotation
Education and/or Equivalent Experience (including tech. and non-tech. capabilities):
BS Degree in Computer Science / Engineering related field or military/professional experience with commensurate technical training.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical related field.
