Job Duty
Gather the requirements from programmers / system engineers and assist to formulate the sequence and job workflow to be triggered via scheduler like Control M, Autosys, TWS etc.
Perform batch scheduling on various tools like control M , Autosys, TWS, on midrange environments (Prod/Dev/QA) ensuring naming and quality standards are maintained
Make sure that there is recovery procedure for every job which is created in the scheduler like Control M, Autosys, TWS etc. which will assist operations during runtime failures
Perform batch job maintenance (update/modifications/delete) as per request from programmers on various scheduling tools like control M , Autosys, TWS etc
Analyze the batch and provide automated recovery where ever possible. Also optimize/Fine tune the batch workflows for efficiencies; Also design and Implement process improvements for client transitions
Create standard operating procedures, policies and other relevant documentation to support external applications like SAP, PeopleSoft, Informatica, Java etc.
Provide Alert, Incident, Request and Change management support during various applications rollouts/deployments
Set up conventional/Periodic calendars to be used by job workflows and maintain them on a yearly basis by taking inputs from customer
Work with relevant parties to prevent repetitive failures by recommending them solutions using latest features/capabilities of the scheduling tools
Responsible for automating the tasks by scripting which will help to reduce tedious/ repetitive tasks for example FTP perl scripts
Conduct KT to onboard new customers for batch scheduling support
Conduct technical trainings on various scheduling tools like Control M, Autosys , TWS for operations team to update regarding the latest versions, features etc and process related trainings for new applications and job types during go live
Follow ITSM best practices for request, incident, change and problem records etc
Participate in DR and HA test for Control M and external applications from job scheduling perspective
To Provide customers coverage 24*7 we provide on call support during off business hours
Represent customer for internal and external audits from batch scheduling perspective
Analyze the batch to optimize/Fine tune the batch workflows for efficiencies; Also design and Implement process improvements for client transitions

Gather the requirements from programmers / system engineers and assist to recommend cost effective scheduler like Control M, Autosys, TWS etc. to run and support the customer batch environment
Conduct proof of concept for various applications to automate and support their batch environment on various products like Control M, Autosys, TWS, open source etc.
Collate all the infrastructure resource requirements like OS, version, RAM, processors, Kernal parameters etc. supported/recommended by product vendors.
Installation of schedulers and GUI based interface tools on midrange OS for tools like Control M, Autosys, TWS etc. to run and support the customer batch environment
Install database supported by scheduling products and configure the ports for communication with application
Work with Network and firewall teams to open ports as per the rules shared based on the type of scheduler in use
Install agent software on application servers to allow communication with schedulers in order to trigger batches automatically
Installation of additional components like BIM, self service, Forecast, WCC etc. to provide additional functionalities of the tool
Installation of external interfaces like SAP, People soft, Java, Informatica, Datastage, DB, file transfer etc.
Setup high availability, application failover and DR(using hot backup techniques) for the scheduling application.
configure database mirroring between primary and secondary servers to provide database HA capabilities
Perform Data center migrations and seamlessly moving entire application from one data center to another
Grant user access/modify/delete based on the privilege required to different users and groups
Maintain and update wrapper scripts which is used to filter SNMP events to pass the result to event consolidator
Configure Monitoring for desired events for new customers
Provide end to end support in upgrading the version of entire scheduling product to provide the latest offered in the market
Control M agent upgrades to be on the latest Fix pack and version available in the market
Responsible for automating the tasks by scripting which will help to automate reduce tedious/ repetitive tasks
Create automatic scripts which will keep the systems clean and ensure health checks are performed so that application is available 24*7
Provide support for OS/application patching to ensure systems are on latest fix pack and patches released by vendors
Participate in Monthly vulnerability meetings to ensure that system is always clean and away from threats.
Configure secure self service to provide direct web access of the scheduling tool to programmers and customers
Communicate best practices and methods to effectively and efficiently support customer batch environment
Maintain product license for leverage and external customers as per the agreement with vendor
Participate in DR and HA test for Control M and external applications from product administration perspective
Follow ITSM best practices for request, incident, change and problem records etc
Acknowledging and working on high critical issues (sev 1 and Sev2) to resolve them by providing permanent fix in timely fashion within SLA guidelines
Work on problem records and action items if any to identify the permanent fix to avoid any such issues in future
Relevant Experience
12-14 years of Administration, migration on BMC Control M, Preferably with BMC Certification.
