Senior Site Specialist

Position Summary: Provides dedicated service at customer’s facility which may include inventory management, order entry, order management, stockroom services for customer owned inventory at multiple locations and material handling. Possesses the ability to accept increased levels of responsibility which include operating customer systems, non-Client mainframe systems and execute 3rd party and agent buys. Serves as a liaison between Client and the customer.  Establishes and fosters positive customer relationships. The tools employed would include various scanners and desktop computers, pallet jacks and push carts. Customer interface communication skills are also required.Essential FunctionsFollow all defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions. Take direction from Area Supervisor and / or Regional Manager regarding daily duties.  Makes decisions based off of instructions provided and / or site work instructionsIndependently makes decisions and utilizes available resources to meet customer requirements, which includes proficiency in mainframe systems, procedures, customer procedures, stockroom and material handling, depending on location Access & utilize Client Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.Utilizes advanced systems or performs the functions stated below:Operates multiple proprietary systems which could include Requisition & Inventory Management System (RIMS), Internet, and MainframeOperates SAP, eScout, PeopleSoft, Arriba and other customer systemsExecutes 3rd party buysExecutes Agent buysMakes on-site program replenishments and disbursements. Performs stockroom duties to include receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts and other functions according to Unity Lab Services and customer requirements.Removes cardboard and trash as needed (Detrashing).Delivers direct shipment orders to end users.Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.Performs other duties as assigned, including product returns as needed. Displays a high level of confidentiality for both the customer and Client.Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various customer, ULS reports to ensure customer and requirements are met.Communicates with direct supervisor any customer issues or potential problemsPromotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and enhancements without the presence of site trainer and management team.Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times.Attend required training sessions as needed (travel included).Produce metrics, complete inventory cycle counts and participate in inventory planning.Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned.Sourcing and cross referencingEnsures proper handling, storage, rotation and issuance of inventoried productsData input, document control, filing and records maintenanceConducts cycle counting and physical inventoryWorks with AP to resolve open invoices/pricing issuesWorks back order reportsDesigns and maintains basic key performance indicatorsAssists with the training of new associatesInteracts with management, customer, vendors and service partners on continuous improvement projects and problem resolutionProvide quotesResponsible for using customer’s ERP systemsConducts Internal presentationsMinimum Requirements/Qualifications:Conform to all customer requirements for drug & alcohol screening, background investigation, security clearances, and medical checkups.BS/BA degree preferred3-5 years customer service experience a must3-5 years purchasing/inventory experience a plusPrevious experience working within a laboratory environment a plusIntermediate level with Microsoft Office suitesGood communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)Ability to develop and document processesAbility to understand site protocols, policies, and proceduresAble perform multiple job functionsStrong attention to detailAbility to display critical thinkingNon-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:3-5 years customer service experienceGood communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)Intermediate level with Microsoft Office suiteAble to lift up to 75 lbsMust have reliable transportation (Mileage reimbursed if traveling between sites)Working Conditions: Works primarily at customer locations, in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments Extensive walking is requiredMust be able to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 75 lbsMay pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use Must be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacksDepending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets and/or safety gloves Some areas require steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glassesMust be able to work overtime as requiredThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this job.  They are not an exhaustive list of all of the duties and responsibilities associated with it.
