Validation and Emulation Engineer

Job Overview:
The Validation Team is part of the central SoC digital hardware organization responsible for the overall quality of the SoC silicon. The Validation team works closely with architects, designers, verification engineers, software engineers, and customers. The team is currently seeking multiple candidates across a broad range of positions as listed below. The technical disciplines, languages and methodologies included in this team are: - CPU Content Developer (ARM experience strongly preferred, C, Assembly, Coherency, Concurrency, DVM, ACE, Low Power Management, MMU, Debug) - Systems Debug (Emulation, SoC Architectures, HW Platforms & firmware, Logic Analyzers, JTAG) - SoC Content Developer (Subsystems may include: CPU Core, Multimedia, IO, Peripherals, DDR, Wireless, Modem) - Content development and debug experience in the area of power/performance/thermal/PDN. Expertise in automation expertise is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in emulation and silicon environments. Candidates are expected to have experience in: - Emulation environments for firmware development and debug - Debugging low-level software and hardware issues - Developing low-level firmware and drivers in C and assembly for CPU (preferred ARMv8) - CPU and SoC architectures; ARM experience is strongly preferred - Debug tools including JTAG debuggers (preferred Trace32) - Basic understanding of power and performance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with post-silicon enabling and bring-up - Understanding of coherency and concurrency in modern CPU and SoC architectures Nice to have: - Validation and debug of mixed analog and digital circuits - Experience with at least one of: Perl, Python, TCL, C++, or Java
