Pharmaceutical Scientist – Microbiology

Job Description
The successful Pharmaceutical Scientist will be responsible investigating, developing and driving execution of proof of concept studies for rapid microbiology methods, as well as implementation of new methods to improve analyses of pharmaceutical products and processes.

Essential job functions:
• Support modernization of microbiology analysis of pharmaceutical products and processes by investigating new technologies.
• Support Container Closure Integrity (in lieu of stability sterility) method development/validation and stability testing for sterile products using various technologies such as dye ingress, HVLD and vacuum decay.
• Support execution of proof of concept studies and method development for new technology protocols in coordination with other support groups such as Client, Process validation, and Microbiology department.

The Successful Applicant
• BSc in Microbiology or a related subject (knowledge of rapid/alternative microbiology methodologies an advantage)
• Demonstrated hands-on and/or practical ability in microbiological analysis of pharmaceutical products.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical environmental and manufacturing microbiology.
• Method development in a similar environment.
• Experience with GMP laboratory operations and FDA regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong team working skills, able to effectively work across interdisciplinary groups
• Self-motivation
• Strong desire to learn/scientific curiosity, with cross functional learning agility
