RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
 
The Electronic Security System Engineer is assigned by the program manager to assist various project managers in the execution of the Electronic Security System portions of their projects. Electronic Security Systems may include intrusion detection, access control, closed circuit TV (CCTV), Access Control Point, (ACP), automated pedestrian and vehicle gates, fence sensors, and mass notification. The engineer shall be able to take a project from conception, to design, to implementation, and final acceptance by the customer. They will be knowledgeable in DoD regulations pertaining to security and be able insure compliance of the system, address engineering inquiries, and support the installation team in resolution of problems.
 
  • Reads and interprets statements of work, specifications, and design drawings.
  • Familiar with ESS security components from various manufacturers for implementing and integrating intrusion detection systems, access control, CCTV, Access Control Point, (ACP), automated pedestrian and vehicle gates, fence sensors, and mass notification.
  • Possess the ability to program or configure CCure 9000 on client workstation and integrate card readers and other ESS devices to complete a fully functional PACS - EACS system.
  • Selects components including systems, software, sensors, and cameras to meet system requirements.
  • Determines sensor and camera location to meet the security goals.
  • Attends project status meeting by phone or on site to provide engineering support for the project.
  • Interfaces to site and customer personnel representing WEC interests and resolving project issues.
  • Create or supports the creation of project documentation including drawings, submittals, and training materials.
  • Writes test procedures and supervises acceptance testing of systems.
  • Conducts site surveys.
  • Is the final review and approving agent for technical specification and drawings submittals.
  • Maintain currency with electronic security systems latest technology.
  • Provide engineering and troubleshooting support for resolution of field problems via phone or on-site.
  • Periods of extensive travel may be required.
  • Plans, organizes, and supervises specific portions of security system installations for the overall system installation project. Serves as the primary point of contact with the client and the subcontractors.
  • Willingness to travel to the installation site locations is expected for one to two week durations.
  • Current USACE background check or possession of a Common Access Card (CAC), and Software House installation and maintenance certification desired.
 
 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Reads and interprets statements of work, specifications, and design drawings in order to plan, execute and complete installation of integrated CCTV, ICS and PACS systems
  • Familiar with ESS security components from various manufactures
  • Assists in the resolution of conflicts between design and current configuration and infrastructure in order to plan, execute and complete installation of integrated CCTV, ICS and ACS systems
  • Interfaces with site and client personnel representing Parsons interests and resolving project issues.
  • Works within a cross functional group and may provide leadership of CADD resources and document control personnel.
  • Makes recommendations and participates in the planning of CCTV, ICS and ACS equipment installations. Makes decisions on manpower requirements and the type and size of equipment to be used.
  • Supports the creation of project documentation including drawings, submittals and training materials
  • Supervises the daily activities of craft supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors. This includes supervising, directing, and designating work assignments.
  • Maintains surveillance of labor performance, manpower allocation, and effective use of tools and equipment. Ensures the use of best practices in design and execution to attain required quality control of design and procurement tasks
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Must possess valid driver's license
