IT Engineer - Windows/Virtualization Administrator

Our company is looking to expand our IT workforce in support of our enterprise VMware Virtualization and Microsoft Windows server environments. You will join a global team that provides best-in-class virtualization solutions to the entire global Enterprise. You will assist with operations, deployment, monitoring, and automation within both the VMware virtualization and Microsoft Windows Server environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate their experience and skills to - Provide support to our IT partners and customers. - Manage global virtualization environments. - Troubleshooting hardware and OS issues, opening cases with OEM's, and providing root cause analysis - Patching and upgrading VMware environments to mitigate security risks - vSphere and Windows configurations to meet certain security criteria - Microsoft Windows configuration and troubleshooting. - Automation of tasks and reporting. - Collaborate with other teams on IT projects - Server provisioning - Hardware setup, configuration and upgrade - Ability to work within tight deadlines - Be a part of the global support organization
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of server administration experience in a mid to large enterprise environment including: - VMware vSphere ESX 5.x or higher (other virtualization technology experience is a plus) - Windows Server System Administration 2008+ - VMware Security Hardening best practices - Background with other VMware products (vROPs, vSAN, SRM, Horizon, vRA, etc.) - Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills - Hardware experience using and configuring Client BL and DL class servers. Dell, and Cisco UCS, is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
VCP / VCAP or equivalent
Preferred: Associate's, Computer Networks & Systems or equivalent experience Preferred: Certificate, Computer Networks & Systems or equivalent experience
Additional Details: *Hours: 8-5 or 8:30-5:30, some flexibility as long as its within normal business hours *Duration: Most likely only 6 months *Ideal years of experience: 5-7 years (Please don't submit over-experienced candidates) *This person will support ~100 end users, mostly via email *Strong communication skills highly desired. *ServiceNow experience is a plus *Seeking candidates who can start as soon as possible in August
