Security Specialist

Location: Santa Clara, California
Maintain and provide daily support in the administration of Global Security programs, systems, procedures, and practices (access control, VSMS, guard tour management, visitor management and customer relationship management, integrated security door hardware, locks and keys). Conduct periodic electronic and physical security audits of all controlled inventory and restricted access areas, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend action plans to mitigate risks. Implement approved action plan with Security Management and provide feedback of the results. Implement best practices and procedures for security restricted access areas and company IP. Arrange for secure transport of project-related materials and escort material in transit as required. Identify and periodically audit security transport firms/facilities; correct or coordinate hardware and software repairs by utilizing outside vendors.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree and 1-3 years security experience in the following areas: Inventory and access control Video surveillance management software Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge and familiarity with Security Patrol Management Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional skills/experience in the following areas considered a plus: Bachelors Degree Strong communication and interpersonal skills Working knowledge of Visitor Management Systems
Education:
Required: Associate's, Business Administration and/or Information Technology and/or Law & Administration and/or Psychology & Criminology or equivalent experience Preferred: Bachelor's, Business Administration and/or Information Technology and/or Law & Administration and/or (Insert Major(s) Here) and/or Psychology & Criminology or equivalent experience
Comments:
-This is a mostly administrative/desk-based role with some training on physical hardware (cutting keys) -Candidate should have STRONG computer and typing skills (above average) and be able to multitask. -This position requires HEAVY communication so strong verbal and written communication skills are a must - this person will be interfacing with customers/clients at all levels from brand new employees to SVP level employees. -This person will assist weekly in the badging office -Exposure/knowledge of security industry/position is highly desirable as this person will be working with security officesr, reviewing surveillance systems, etc. Interview Process: 1 phone interview, 1 onsite interview.
