Description: This position provides application expertise and support for quality assurance system applications/business functions. This position is responsible for overall coordination of planning, scheduling and documenting of application migrations for pre-production projects. The migrations may be multiple migrations for various pre-production projects or individual migrations for a single pre-production project. Migration information will be coordinated and compiled from various sources including but not limited to; project team members, developers, business stakeholders, consultants, third party vendors and user groups.
  • Promoting quality in migration by facilitating the end to end migration process.
  • Work effectively with IT Development, Infrastructure Teams, QA, Change and Configuration Management to coordinate, and plan the daily tasks essential for a successful deployment of code into test environments.
  • Coordinate migration verification for test phase entrance and exit criteria
  • Coordination and documentation of appropriate approvals prior to application of configuration/code to test environments
  • Coordinate with the respective business functional and technical teams including application and infrastructure owners to reduce outage time in environments to minimize testing impacts
  • Schedule and conduct status meetings as necessary
  • Maintain a repository of accurate status/approvals of patches/code/configuration changes for test environments and documentation of any applicable risks and issues
  • Facilitation of status updates of testing defects associated with environment patches and migrations
  • Communicate effectively across multiple teams including external vendors
  • Timely and accurate communication of testing events, daily status, and test execution results

Skill/Experience/Education:
  • Understands and considers standard concepts, best practices and procedures related to application development.
  • Expertise in a limited number of programming languages/application systems while becoming increasingly familiar with additional programming languages and/or application systems.
  • Working knowledge of multiple application systems/business functions with expertise in selected systems/functions.
  • Working knowledge of business goals, software quality standards and best practices.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of employees, both technical and non-technical.
  • Establishes cooperative relationships with departments
  • Facilitates small to medium project testing team meetings effectively, accurately and timely.
  • Searches for and identifies alternative and/or innovative solutions to technical problems.
  • Uses planning skills to manage and complete projects on time and on budget.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-4 years of previous release and or project management experience
  • 5 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
  • General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, working knowledge of SharePoint
  • 2-4 years of experience with Client Application Lifecycle Management
  • Working knowledge of QA processes and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology
  • Working knowledge of Subversion (SVN)
