Title: IT Category Manager - Procurement
Work location:  Allentown, PA - no travel required.
Duration:  6 months  + (Contract to Hire for the right candidate).

Job Description:
  • This successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.
  • The Category Manager's primary responsibility is to utilize the strategic sourcing best practices to capture real savings while making effective supply base decisions.
  • This includes direct savings captured through consolidating company-wide purchasing volume and applying operational and commercial TCO levers to reduce cost and managing contracts with suppliers.
Skills / Experience:
  • 5 years minimum experience required in a procurement organization as IT Category Manager.
  • Experience in a procurement organization with global reach would be nice to have but not required.
  • Experience with innovation / process improvement required.
  • Must have worked in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects.
  • Exceptional Excel skills required.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills required.
  • Selected candidate will be among a group of 4 others within the department.
  • No direct reports to manage.
  • This position Leads the strategic sourcing activities for Information Technology spend categories such as Maintenance, Client Services, and Software Licensing, with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, while maintaining/improving product quality and supplier service levels.
  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management/Business/Engineering or related field required with MBA preferred.
