Network Engineer

Network Engineer I will observe, learn and perform technical support in the execution and maintenance of the production network. Follows proven processes to ensure the quality of new software and hardware does not negatively impact our customers, perform feature/new product testing and software/hardware validation for major systems with direct supervision as needed. The engineer will acquire a basic working knowledge of at least one primary system/platform. The Network Engineer I should have a basic understanding of telephony principles and core switch functionality.

Responsibility:
The Network Engineer I within Test Operations will be responsible for:
Perform assignments and adhere to policies as directed by leadership team.
Deploying and integrating different elements and solutions in new and live customer networks.
Perform moderately complex integration and regression testing on new software.
Provide first level assistance for trouble resolution.
Assist in reviewing vendor documentation to ensure feature functionality requirements are delivered.
Perform interoperability testing.
Follow and execute test schedules and test plans. Ensure assigned testing system problems are documented, assigned, communicated, and appropriately resolved. Verify that all scheduled processing is completed in accordance with schedules.
Assist with implementation of new application systems and software into the testing environments.
Assist with ensuring all impacted organizations are coordinated with and represented.
Position may require candidate to work nights and occasional weekends.

Skills, Experience and Education:
Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
BS/BA in Technical Field or equivalent technical experience, or 3 years of applicable experience in telecommunications, preferred experience in VoLTE, LTE, CDMA/3G core elements, switching, signalling, or transmission systems.
Experience using general office applications in order to perform work assignments.
Good interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills.
