Truck Driver

Overview of Assignment:
- Primary job will be driving the off-road trucks, however they will be asked to perform tasks such as installation of silt fence and occasional shoveling of aggregate.
- They will need to be physically fit, capable of lifting 50 pounds, and walking over rough terrain.
- Must have experience with operation of Off-Road Articulating trucks.
- Three years or more of experience driving off road trucks or equivalent is preferred.


The Dan River project is a former Duke Energy coal fired generation plant located in Eden NC. The projected will take 2 1/2 years to complete and consists of three phases, already in progress. The initial phase consists of relocation of 130,000 CY of coal ash to a temporary storage area. This material will be relocated to the landfill at a later date. The second phase consists or dewatering, excavation, loading and hauling of 2,500,000 CY of coal ash to a landfill on the Dan River site, and placement of this coal ash into lined landfill. The final phase is capping and close out of the landfill including installation of a HDPE liner system with water collection, vegetation, etc.

Parsons is currently recruiting for skill truck drivers to operate large 40 to 45 ton articulated off road trucks to assist with hauling and placing this coal ash. The ideal candidate will match the requirements listed below.


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience operating large, off road, articulated haul trucks
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience operating this or other heavy equipment is required
• Operating a haulage truck in an industrial environment is an asset, but it is not a requirement
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Will work in inclement weather and adverse environmental conditions
• The work schedule is 5 -10 hour days, with flexibility for additional hours as needed
• Must be comfortable working in off-road environment, walking through rough
• Proven ability to concentrate, pay attention to detail, organize, priority set and be a team player
• Proven understanding of safe work practices and mitigating risk
