Software Development Architect

Description:  
Software Development Architect primarily supporting business applications and client reporting needs, but will also assist with other support calls and IT projects. This position involves development and deployment activities for software, hardware, and network upgrades that adhere to the our financial client Change Management methodology.

Job Responsibilities:
• Support portfolio on the day to day technical and operational issues
• Work is assigned and general instructions given for routine work; more detailed instruction is provided for new projects
• Interacts with stakeholders to clarify issue(s) and business needs
• Performs root cause analysis, development of checklists for typical problems and controls for problem prevention
• Build and deploy software distribution packages for application
• Development activities
• Administer and provision certain security access
• Create, research, document and resolve Second and Third level tickets
• Applies knowledge of company policies and standard practices to resolve problems
• Analyzes issues and uses judgment to make decisions or escalates non-standard problems or issues to senior management.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
• 4 + years of experience
• Knowledge of standard support issues and solutions related to applications and hardware
• Ability to apply general organizational knowledge of the business and systems processes in problem analysis
• Analytical skills and ability to do root cause analysis
• Requires excellent communication skills and ability to write and discuss procedures regarding technical issues
• Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of personnel
• Requires the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Ability to create detailed design documentation from high level business requirements or participate in the design process
• Good level of understanding SQL knowledge, IIS Web services, Citrix, Visual Basic scripting as well as good understanding of a Windows/Networking platform
• Proficient in .NET and PowerShell
• Strong MS Office Excel
• Thorough understanding of technical concepts
• Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support
• Must be highly motivated self-starter, curious and able to demonstrate competence in technical problem solving and must also be able to work under pressure both individually and as part of the team
• Strong critical thinking skills; ability to work with complex concepts
• Requires general availability and may include off hours and some holidays and weekends
