There are two main areas that we use temporaries in Strongsville Powder Production
Preassembly – weigh-up raw materials for production batches. Following preassembly weigh up sheet the incumbent will weigh up partial bags from full bags of pigment. Minimum expected output in an 8 hour shift is 125 weigh-ups per person. Attention to detail is critical to ensure correct material is placed into each partial bag. Once weigh-ups are completed for the batch the incumbent will build the mixes by placing full bags and partial bags onto a skid for each mix. Must be able to work without close supervision. Good attendance record is required. Must be a fast learner and able to work in a fast paced work environment but also work error free. Will help out on the production lines as needed and will be required to learn the premixing job as detailed below.

Pre mixer – responsible for charging the mixer by adding the raw materials to the mixer for each batch. On the larger production lines the skid will contain approx. 2,000 pounds of raw materials. Using walkie trucks and lift assists the skid of raw materials is positioned next to the chute on the mixer. Over the course of 15-20 minutes the incumbent will take each bag and cut it open and then dump into the mixer. This process will be repeated 5-6 times per shift depending on which line the person is premixing on. Most bags weigh 50-55 pounds and at time drums will be dumped into the mixer using a drum dumper. This person will also learn the filling operation and will help fill in between their premixing duties.
