Financial Analyst

Summary:
  • The Financial Analyst supports all financial activities within Enterprise Operations, including annual budget planning, monitoring and reporting ensuring senior management receives timely and accurate financial information in order to drive sound business decisions.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform general accounting duties, to include but not limited to, account reconciliations, account analysis, ratio analysis, and accrual and prepaid calculations
  • Review all expenditures, including purchase orders, for budget adherence and accuracy, providing direction and support to departmental business owners as needed
  • Maintain monthly Hyperion reporting database
  • Prepare budget adjustments for upload into Hyperion ensuring that requests are entered accurately
  • Maintain and distribute well formatted financial reports which clearly communicate results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan
  • Maintain reporting and spend hierarchy and ensure costs are accurately reported
  • Prepare cost center, department-level and consolidated headcount and expense reports
  • Track and analyze costs to budget and forecast and provide clear written explanations
  • Perform detailed analysis on large amounts of data/information with the ability to summarize the information in a concise and easy to understand manner
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and understand trends ensuring budget targets and assumptions are achieved
  • Assist in the development, implementation and revision of department  policies and  procedures
  • Assist co-workers and manager on any ad-hoc projects
  • Produce and distribute ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. 
  • Preferred majors include: Accounting, Finance, Business Related
  • Three to five years of experience in the following areas: financial analysis, reporting, and/or cost and financial modelling.
  • Advanced/expert in Microsoft Excel and other Office products
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with journal entries, monthly close, account reconciliations and general accounting concepts and principles including prepaids and accruals
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong system and database skillset
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills; seeks to understand issues and implications of actions taken.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Team player that is accountable
