POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Performs a variety of complex duties in a technical area requiring judgment in methods and ability to interpret test results. Provides recommendations for improvement in processes and / or products. Works under general supervision of Scientists and provides regular updates on progress to manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design or complete non-original test procedures / process design from concept description or incomplete engineering documents. Prepare flow circuits for device testing. Conduct runs to coat test devices.
  • Perform processes or conduct tests from general instructions to verify the functionality of products / test procedures / process designs.
  • Assess device, process or material performance against established standards or specifications and troubleshoot problems by identifying the source of the problem and the procedure to correct it.
  • Perform special analytical processes from non-detailed instructions. Prepare reagents for assays. Conduct biochemical assays.
  • Interpret results and write and / or present clear, accurate reports of findings using appropriate documentation methods.
  • Provide training to personnel within / outside immediate functional area in the functional activities of the group.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good organization skills

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associates degree (minimum)

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Candidate must be willing to work with blood (human and animal) and have experience working with chemicals (preparing reagents).
  • Candidate must have experience in Wet Chemistry Lab.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (optional):
• Prefer candidate with exposure to bioanalytical chemistry (running assays).

  • Lifting 20-50 pounds
  • Close, color vision required for working with a microscope
