Job Summary
The Fitter/Welder is responsible for fitting and fabricating metal components to assemble pipeline equipment using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years experience
Knowledge of welding techniques
Knowledge and experience with reading blue prints
Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations

Duties and Essential Job Functions
Plans arrangement, assembly, and welding performances by analyzing engineering drawings and specifications
Client out, fit, and fabricate metal components
Interpret work orders, job orders, specifications, blue prints, ISO's or other drawings
Recognize basic blue print terms and symbols accurately
Use large-scale equipment (cranes, fork-lifts, etc.) safely
Use hand tools, torch, and arc welding equipment to heat, form and cut metal pieces
Use grinder, hand file, or scraper to jettison rough spots from work piece
Perform materials checks for defects, dimension and tolerance before welding begins
Perform layout checks when asked by supervisor and/or other co-workers
All work should be of X-ray quality
Observe and follow all company safety rules and policies
Able to work a full shift
Able to communicate effectively
