Nesco has partnered with a growing financial institution looking to fill an opening with their management team. Our customer is one of the largest facilities of its type and has over $5.2 billion in assets.
We are currently seeking a Vice President of Investment Strategy that will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Deliver direct advisory and balance sheet services for more than 50 financial institutions with more than $4B in assets.
  • Provides expert knowledge to educate clients across all aspects of risk including operational, liquidity, credit, interest rate and regulatory risks.
  • Evaluation of potential returns of investment securities with in applicable state and federal regulations as well as institution specific interest rate risk and ALM policy limitations.
  • Develop policies to set appropriate limitations for relevant risk exposures.
  • Develop model contingency funding policies and liquidity stress tests that helped clients better understand their liquidity risk and communicate that understanding to their regulators.
  • Assist clients in strategically managing balance sheet liabilities including strategic structuring and pricing of share accounts and wholesale funding sources.
  • Review and evaluate loan participation purchases with a focus on quantifying potential assumed risks and returns
  • . Review and interpret quarterly ALM results in the context of ongoing balance sheet strategies.
  • Work with clients to help them understand risk exposures within the context of their specific institution and provide guidance formulating responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Assist clients in quantifying loan portfolio credit risk and assist in implementing and developing models and processes to provide forward looking analysis of potential credit losses.
  • Develop strategies to help increase loan originations while utilizing data to limit credit and interest rate risk.
  • Design client specific strategic plans.
  • Research, develop, and present formal strategic plans that meet client expectations and enhanced trusted and respected professional relationships.
  • Analyze potential merger and acquisition targets and provided expert advice on potential acquisitions.
  • Develop balance sheet leverage strategies for clients resulting in substantial increases in net income while maintaining compliance with all applicable risk requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of related progressive experience in addition to educational requirements. Baance sheet management for a financial institution at a senior level is required
Licensed Investment Advisor, Representative, Series 65 or eqivalent or MUST be able to attain it within 120 days of hire.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Bloomberg.

Compliance Requirements
  • Keeps abreast of regulatory information, changes, and updates to regulations promulgated by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and state credit union regulators by attending annual compliance training and obtaining information made available through industry groups, contracted training, or other outside organizations as appropriate to job duties.
  • Performs duties within parameters of the Investment Advisor's Act of 1940 and all other federal and state level regulations.t
  • Complies with the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and USA PATRIOT Act including completing the company's annual BSA/AML/OFAC training and any job-specific targeted compliance training, performing ongoing member due diligence, conducting ongoing monitoring to identify suspicious transactions, and following procedures for reporting suspicious activities to the BSA Department. Adheres to all National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) rules and regulations and keeps information confidential in accordance with policy.
Adequately supervises employees that handle transactions, complete reports, grant exemptions, monitor for suspicious activity, or engage in any other activity covered by the BSA and its implementing regulations. Ensures that employees adhere to the policies set forth byto stay in compliance with NCUA regulatory mandates
