Major purpose:
  • Client Mobile-Vision provides a variety of electronic solutions intended for use by law enforcement.
  • We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to assist in the development and test of our next generation product.
Major functions:

Responsibilities
  • Work with third party developers on the design and implementation of embedded software devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
  • Define and implement network test environments.
  • Perform design reviews on code and related circuit designs.
  • Test and debug embedded software systems.
  • Document and execute testing of products, systems, or subsystems (with electrical, mechanical, and/or software components).
  • Interface with hardware design and development.
  • Responsible for completion of activities on time.
  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience in embedded software development.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Solid programming experience for Linux based systems.
  • Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems.
  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment, scopes, meters, analyzers etc.
  • Possesses strong troubleshooting logic and problem solving skills.
  • Strong technical documentation writing skills.
  • Be able to work independently, regularly reporting progress and status.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
