A leading mid-sized manufacturing company in the Capital District is seeking an Engineering Manager to manage all activities within its engineering department.

Responsibilities:


• Plans, organizes, directs, communicates and prioritizes all activities associated with the engineering function including but not limited to, design, drawings, calculations and analysis, manufacturing and fleet support, as may be required to satisfy requirements.
• Manages a staff of 5+ engineering personnel.
• Advises, reviews, and approves product designs and changes.
• Supervises and prepares estimates for required expenditures.
• Works with Sales and Operations to prioritize and schedule quotes and projects.
• Works closely with the Sales team to ensure accurate quoting and client satisfaction; including technical sales support, electrical and mechanical component/device specifications, product operating and maintenance instructions and proposals.
• Establish and maintain good customer relations.
• Provides technical support to other personnel.
• Directs the development of major engineering projects.
• Advises, reviews, and approves all product regulatory laws and compliance documentation. 


Requirements:
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required. 
  • 10 years of experience with electrical engineering, including prior supervisory responsibility is required.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical design is strongly preferred.
  • Attention-to-detail with strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking.
  • Ability to be flexible, motivated, resourceful and organized in a multi-functional role.
  • Solid communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Innovative and driven to be challenged with new opportunities.
  • Experience and knowledge of organizational development principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at varying stages of completion simultaneously.
  • Prior experience interfacing with a quality management system, ISO9001, NQA-1, etc.
  • Ability to manage the implementation of an ERP system.
