Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Under limited direction, oversee transmission projects, provide technical support, and facilitate completion of Firewall, Batch and SFG configuration.
  • Reviews assigned transmission requests and configures a standard file transmission solution. Partners with vendors and clients to select transfer methods that meet business requirements while maintaining data center standards.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal team members such as Network and Security, external vendors and clients related to transmission projects.
  • Coordinate testing with external vendors and clients related to transmission projects.
  • Create custom business processes to meet specific application needs for file transfer.
  • Troubleshoots transmissions issues as required and escalates as necessary.
  • Monitors and tracks automated file transfers. Creates and maintains file transfer documentation. Troubleshoots and corrects problems with existing automation and procedures.
  • Assist less experienced team members, review their work, and assist in problem resolution as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years experience with File Transmissions and File Transmission protocols such as FTP, FTPS, SFTP, HTTP, HTTP/S, Connect Direct and multiple encryption standards, such as PGP and SSL/TLS.
  • 5 years experience in an IT operations or production support environment troubleshooting applications, systems, or networks; or other equivalent IT experience.
  • Strong Knowledge of Enterprise Application and Business-to-Business Integration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sterling File Gateway (Mailboxes, Pub Keys, Adaptors, and Business Processes).
  • Basic understanding of Firewalls, Network connectivity, Security, Certificates and Encryption
  • Working knowledge of Mainframe OS/390/zOS, TSO/ISPF and JCL.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products.
  • No management experience is required.
