Nesco Resource is looking for laser operators for a client in Chambersburg, PA. Positions are full-time, temp-to-hire for the right candidate.

Openings are available on 2nd and 3rd shift. 2nd shift (M-F 3 PM – 11 PM) and 3rd shift (M-F 11 PM – 7 AM).
  • Position salary will start at 12.00/hr but will be negotiable based on experience.
Job Description:
  • A laser machine operator (metal fabrication) works to manufacture metal products using machines that employ lasers and computerized equipment. The operator often uses laser cutting and punching machines that make metal shapes and holes to fit other parts. It is important that they pay attention to the machine at all times to ensure that it is working properly.
  • The laser machine operator should know how to operate and set up machines identical (or similar) to those used by the prospective employer. Some positions require a knowledge of understanding mechanical drawings such as blueprints as well. A laser machine operator should know how to use tools to ensure efficiency and correct operation of the machine. Whenever the machine malfunctions, the laser machine operator should be able to bring it back into working order by using tools and programs.
  • The laser machine operator should be able to make fast, accurate decisions relating to the production process and equipment.
  • They must understand the details of the product to be manufactured, such as the product size and use. Quality standards must be strictly adhered to, so attention to detail is extremely important.
  • A laser machine operator may frequently use a chart to perform routine checks and maintenance on machines to make sure they are always in working order. Attention to time constraints is also important, as projects need to be completed in a timely and quality manner. Shifts for laser machine operators vary but are often full time.
