Nesco Resource has an immediate need for a Help Desk/IT Support Technician for our busy client in the Albany area! This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent.

Position Summary
The Senior IT Support Technician serves a critical role to client by working to triage IT help desk tickets for employees and maintain optimal functionality of IT systems internally. The Senior IT Support Technician must approach the role with a customer service focus and a desire to support internal customers with IT needs. This role regularly interfaces with employees and helps to establish the reputation for the IT department. As such, technical knowledge, responsiveness, and interpersonal skills are each critical elements of success in this position.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to employees with issues arising from everyday computer use
  • Provide 2nd level enhanced IT support for complex issues
  • Develop cross-functional partnerships with other departmental team members such as HR
  • Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call support in the event of system outages or scheduled downtime
  • Respond to help tickets submitted in a timely manner with a customer service focus
  • Configure hardware and systems for new hires and existing employees in need of upgrades/changes
  • Work to isolate and remove viruses from systems and hardware as needed Create and modify active directory user and group accounts Manage creation/modification of telephone and voicemail accounts Provide assistance with IT asset tracking Assist with cabling setup in offices and cubicles as needed including Ethernet, telephone, and other Provide instructional tutorials to employees on the use of computers, phone systems, and other relevant IT applications Represent client in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions Perform all other duties as assigned
 
Education and Experience
  • Associates degree in information technology, trade school certificate or relevant work experience
  • A minimum of three (3) or more years of related work experience; experience in desktop configuration management, administration and production support
  • Microsoft client systems certifications such as Microsoft MCP are preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a time-critical production environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working in a globally dispersed, team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Must possess a customer service approach to work
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Superior communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to manage projects and multi-task effectively
  • Excellent follow-through
  • Must be driven and self-motivated
