Position Summary:
Develop, improve, and ensure production processes related to the seat appearance that will produce a quality product. Evaluate product and design, identify concerns and potential concerns, and apply countermeasure to assure the quality of the products.

Essential Functions:
Design and Process Development:
  • Coordinate development activities with R&D Prototype and trim suppliers
  • Review, evaluate, confirm, and update as necessary design changes related to appearance (Material, Pattern, Cut Process, Sew Process, Assembly, Pad Mold)
  • Change Trim Pattern
  • Change Accumark data or trim pattern templates
  • Digitize Trim Patterns
  • Organize and Manage Trim Cover Data and Design Changes related to Trim Cover
  • Review, evaluate, confirm, and update as necessary the Sewing Control Points
  • Review, evaluate, confirm, and update as necessary the Assembly Control Points
  • Sew Trim Samples
  • Assemble Samples
  • Teach Assembly methods
  • Lead Production Master Seat Development and Trim Cover Development schedule
  • Confirm and Approve Appearance Limit Master Books

Corrective and preventative action:
  • Investigate appearance concerns (new model, mass production, and warranty)
  • Determine Root Cause of Appearance issues (Material, Pattern, Cut Process, Sew Process, Assembly, Pad Mold)
  • Work with Suppliers on Trim Cover concerns and Countermeasures
  • Work with Customers on Trim Cover concerns and Countermeasures

Position Qualifications:
  • Sewing (upholstery: Auto Upholstery preferred)
  • Seat Assy
  • Pattern Making
  • Raw Material knowledge (Impacts on final Seat Appearance)
  • Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point
