NESCO Resource is currently recruiting for a Procurement Supervisor for a contract to hire position for our client in South Tucson, AZ. 
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The position will be hands-on to develop approved vendor relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, to purchase components from vendors on the approved vendor listing, and to support the molding operations, and assembly production. Manager will direct the quoting of components with existing vendors, or new vendors, on current products or those that are being developed.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
  • Supervises the daily activities of the purchasing function.
  • Maintains relationship with vendors or suppliers and negotiates contracts for more complex purchase orders.
  • Evaluates and analyzes purchasing trends and price trends to identify forecasting demand and minimize purchasing costs.
  • Supervises a small group of staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes.
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to employees performing purchasing responsibilities and ensure appropriate assignment based on special qualifications and job knowledge.
  • Manage, plan and organize workload for a smooth flow of priority and routine tasks.
  • Review and distribute procurement requests and follow-up to verify prompt action of buyers; collaborate with buyers if necessary to resolve issues.
  • Support establishment of new sources of supply.
  • Review and react to metrics by identifying and solving problems, making improvements and advancing process control.
  • Develop and support teams that make suggestions, take initiative and actively implement improvements.
  • Monitor purchases and proposals to ensure compliance with Company and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the most economical price (i.e. best value) and bid to buy integrity is attained to ensure no purchase price variances to standards.
  • Resolve major material problems that may arise.
  • Meet with key suppliers to promote the Company's best interest in the purchase of materials and services to identify changing market conditions.
  • Support and promote Supply Chain Management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and customer requirements.
  • Ensure the coordination of purchase material costs inputs required to support proposals.
  • Request samples for Quality, Product development.
  • Notify COO of any cost changes.
  • Notify COO & production managers when material may be delayed, and cause problems.
  • Resolve any Invoice related problems, cost, quantity, etc.
  • Request prints, MSDS, and data sheets, on new purchased components.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and use of Material Requirement Planning systems.
  • Knowledge and use of Excel, and Word
  • Must have good telephone skills
  • Must be able to interact well with other departments including engineering, assembly, molding, receiving, accounting.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual - Spanish/English a plus
  • Ability to manage direct report(s)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple issues effectively and a quick learner.
  • Must possess an infectious positive demeanor and professional ethics.
