Provide mechanical skills required to efficiently and safely maintain company equipment, facilities and grounds. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality, and\or quality.


Under the direction of an Engineering Supervisor/Lead person, performs routine and non-routine tasks necessary to assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities and property, so as to minimize lost production time.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Under supervision, performs assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Performs repairs on plant equipment and machinery, facilities and property, as needed.
  • Must actively participate and satisfactorily complete all continuous self and supervised training programs for the purpose of increasing maintenance knowledge, skills and Safety requirements to perform all assigned tasks.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area.
  • Practices and complies with all company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc...
  • Ensures that all internal food safety and quality policies and procedures are followed.
  • Position may be responsible for operating the facility metal detectors. For this job responsibility, operator must be fully trained and certified.
  • Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Position is responsible for ensuring staff is fully trained in and operates within the parameters of the facility's Security Program with regards to site and product security.
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervision.


LICENSE- License as required by state, industry, city, county (boiler, Refrigeration, etc.) Must possess/maintain a valid license to operate applicable heavy equipment, including forklift.

MOBILITY- Physically capable of rapid, unimpeded movement to all areas of plant. Able to climb fixed and portable ladders, able to crawl under and climb onto machinery and equipment, able to enter and exit confined spaces.

SENSORY- Ability to view product for proper size and color. Ability to distinguish color-coded equipment. Vision enough to distinguish operating lights and panels on machinery and equipment. Must be able to hear and identify audible alarm systems. Must be able to hear and identify normal and abnormal equipment operating sounds.

One or two years experience in plant maintenance and engineering. Demonstrated knowledge in Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning: Refrigeration, Welding, Electronic/Electrical Equipment repair, Industrial Equipment installation, start-up, repair, etc.

High school diploma or equivalency plus additional formal training in electronics, electrical or mechanical operations.
