Structural Welder/Fitter

Local manufacturing company has an immediate need for a structural welder/fitter. Must be able to work overtime as well as 2nd or 3rd shift. A pre-employment drug test and background check will be required prior to starting work. 

Duties to include:
  • Structural and plate welding.
  • Fabrication and istallation of steel pipes and fittings. 
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, schematics, and instructions from the engineering department.
  • Able to weld in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions. 
  • Able to operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment. 
  • Familiar with GTAW/TIG, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW welding procedures. 
  • Familiar with ASME codes. 

Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent. Certificate from a vo-tech or welding school strongly preferred. 
  • 2+ years of MIG and TIG welding experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing company strongly preferred. 
Physical conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to hot and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles typical for painting environments. The noise level within the immediate work environment is not excessive but ear protection within all production areas is provided. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, climb or balance. These activities may occur at any time of the shift. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Assistance may be requested when lifting heavy objects.
