General Function:
To perform a wide variety of plant maintenance, repair and installation operations as assigned and directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot work-related problems and determine best method to repair equipment. Assemble and test machinery to verify correction.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools and fit assembled parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.
  • Dismantle machines or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part.
  • Provide necessary documentation and information for spare parts in Maintenance Management Software (EAM) related to part name,
  • Navigate and utilize variety of functions within Maintenance Management Software (EAM)
  • Inspect, repair, adjust and maintain refrigeration, ventilation, air conditioning and heating equipment, including related systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, machine part specifications and equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Familiar with programmable logic controllers (PLC), human machine interfaces (HMI), and other controllers. Ability to use programmable relays and diagnose issues.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, size wire for systems, and provide appropriate power supply to equipment, diagnose/repair 12V/24V systems, install 120V-280V power for new machines. Ability to read electrical schematics and wire electrical components/controls into existing electrical systems on machines.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Complete required maintenance records.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • All work to be performed through the guidelines of Atrium standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Additional duties as required or assigned.

    Position is carried out in a factory setting where there is considerable exposure to noise, dust and raw materials including, but not limited to, enzymes and animal-based glandular materials.

    Education/Skill Level:
    High School diploma or equivalent and completion of technical school or formal apprenticeship training; five or more years of experience; additional skills in different crafts a plus, formal electrical training preferred.
