Role Summary/Purpose:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for procuring and purchasing maintenance spare parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and services. Further responsibilities include managing and controlling the maintenance spare part, material, and supply inventories in a cost-effective manner while ensuring safety stocks are adequate to minimize maintenance related downtime.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Functions as the primary focal point for indirect procuring and purchasing of all maintenance spare parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and services within the department and other departments as directed
• Contact suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes, compare and analyze quotes and bids. • Purchase maintenance spare parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and services utilizing predetermined specifications.
• Review maintenance supply order forms and obtain supplier and vendor representative information relative to price, product quality, service and delivery times.
• Prepare and maintain standard purchasing and supply lists.
• Conduct follow-up activities to finalize purchase order transactions.
• Assist in answering questions concerning items to be purchased and quantities to be ordered.
  •  Assure leftover spare parts, materials, supplies, and equipment is returned to inventory.
  •  Maintain a computerized inventory and tracking system for maintenance spare parts, materials, supplies, and equipment.¿
  •  Receive, process and store maintenance spare parts, materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Setup and own maintenance spare part, material, and supply inventories to support all manufacturing units.
  • Consolidate maintenance spare part, material, and supply inventories across all manufacturing units. 
  • Coordinates with Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering and Scheduling to assure availability of necessary maintenance spare parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and services for scheduled work. 
  • Assists the operational leaders in planning, materials, resources, information, special tools or equipment required on each Work Order with little supervision. 
  • Ensures that the Work Order documentation of parts used for equipment history is maintained and communicated to originator. 
  • Creates and maintains maintenance work orders. 
  • Creates and maintains preventative maintenance plans for manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Experience with SAP
• 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment working in a maintenance position.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

Desired Characteristics:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work under limited supervision, excellent organizational and supervision skills, and ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
• Technical knowledge and experience in maintenance procedures and methods (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic trouble-shooting and repair).
• Computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel and Windows Applications.
• Attention to detail and organized approach to work.
• Ability to provide the written information necessary to do their job correctly.
• Ability to make relevant information known in a responsive and effective way.
• Ability to reach a conclusion using relevant information and data and to determine the best course of action in a timeframe consistent with business requirements.
• Ability to access and utilize materials and supply spare parts systems.
• Ability to utilize Indirect Spend Request Form and SSS Purchasing System.
• Knowledge of database and spreadsheet programs such as Excel.
• Use of a SAP computer maintenance management system.
• Experience involving inventory, record keeping and purchasing of maintenance spare parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
