Validation Specialist I

The Validation Specialist I will be responsible for validation of equipment, utilities, facilities and software programs that are used in the GMP environment.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Write and summarize qualification protocols and related documents (risk management, periodic reviews, URS, FRS, IQ, OQ, PQ, PV, FAT, etc.) to support the following:
  • Solid, Semi-Solid, and Liquid Dosage Manufacturing and Packaging Equipment
  • Facilities / Utilities
  • Process Validation
  • Laboratory instruments
  • Re-qualification of existing equipment and utilities
  • Develop and write quality discrepancies and investigations associated with the validation studies.
  • Revise validation related SOPs under direction.
  • Maintain and organize validation records.
  • Maintain validation equipment in an organized, operational, and calibrated state.
  • Work within the team to design, maintain, and continually improve the validation systems in line with current national and international standards. 
  • Some travel may be required for Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Other duties, which may be assigned from time to time.
Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to interact and work well with members of multiple departments
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of typical office computer systems and software.
  • Sense of urgency on work related matters
 
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
  • Associate's degree in a scientific field with 3 to 10 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 0 to 10 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
